EXFO (News - Alert), a provider of test and service assurance solutions, stated that CFP2 capabilities are now available on the 88100NGE Power Blazer and 85100G Packet Blazer modules through the new CFP-to-CFP2 adapter. Users can now use these modules with either CPFs or CFP2s.

Both the Power and Packet Blazer offerings now include 100G testing capabilities including 100G Ethernet (as per IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3ba) and OTN (as per ITU-T G.709) on second-generation CFP2 high-speed optics.

Claudio Mazzuca, vice president of transport and service assurance division at EXFO, remarked, “Over the past few years, EXFO has been a leading provider of high-speed multiservice testing solutions, and the extension of our 100G capabilities to address the new CFP2 transceivers carries on that trend. Over the past few years, EXFO has been a leading provider of high-speed multiservice testing solutions, and the extension of our 100G capabilities to address the new CFP2 transceivers carries on that trend.”

EXFO explained that the Power Blazer modules are designed to address high-speed field deployments and the 88100NGE is a 10M-to-100G compact multiservice ?eld test solution that can address the testing, troubleshooting and performance assessment requirements of next-generation networks.

While the Packet Blazer module is a 40G/100G integrated multiservice testing solution for Carrier labs and the NEM market and it is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ba standard and OTU3/OTU4 as per ITU-T G.709 – all in a single module.

The CFP-to-CFP2 adapter seamlessly enables CFP2 testing capabilities on existing CFP-based modules making the FTB/IQS-88100NGE Power Blazer and FTB/IQS-85100G Packet Blazer the only solutions in the market that support both CFP and CFP2 interfaces on the same hardware. Some of the notable benefits of this special feature include increased ROI and significant operational savings.

In related news, EXFO recently launched two new Tier-1 spectrum analysis products and utilized contextual knowledge to become even more relevant and responsive to customers with Coveo for Salesforce
