Overture recently announced Fluency Communications Ltd., a growing Scottish wholesale network operator, is deploying an Ethernet over Copper platform as part of a network expansion and strategic initiative. This initiative will offer improved, highly scalable Carrier Ethernet services with much lower latency and greater resiliency than is currently available. These platforms are hypothesized to reach and support Fluency’s full suite of standards-based Ethernet services in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen (News - Alert), and eventually hope to expand throughout Scotland.
Charlie, Boisseau, director of Fluency Communications, stated, “Overture’s EoC platforms are a great fit with our business model. The Overture solution really stands out with a number of built-in features that make it easier to activate services and assure performance to ultimately deliver the time-to-service, low latency, quality of service, and reliability that our customers need.” Fluency Communications have built out their fiber facilities, so their Ethernet over Copper customers have the ability to receive very high performance latency and throughput. If this growth continues at the rate at which it is currently progressing, the network is predicted to double over the next few years.
Overture’s Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certified solutions feature edge and aggregation elements that provide for speedy deployment and simplification of operations through features such as integrated service activations testing, built-in copper test head, and zero touch commissioning. Overture EoC solution platforms enable transport from 10Mbps to 100Mbps in typical network deployments as well as being capable of bonding up to 32 copper pairs for high bandwidth applications. With the help of advanced traffic management, line rate local switching, and industry-leading resiliency options and integration into Overture’s recently developed Ensemble Open Service Architecture, service providers are supplied with the ability to differentiate their offerings.
Mike Aquino, president and CEO of Overture, said, “We are pleased to see our customers achieving success and growing their business by staying at the forefront of technology,” He is looking forward to a successful, continuous relationship with Fluency.
