Allworx, a Windstream (News - Alert) company and provider of communications solutions, recently expanded its product portfolio by introducing PowerFlex, a new line of Ethernet switches.
"We are continuously making additions and enhancements to our product line to enhance our users' experience," said Chris Hasenauer, vice president and general manager of Allworx (News - Alert). "PowerFlex demonstrates that total commitment to our customers.”
PowerFlex has been exclusively designed to complement Allworx’s current product line. It offers simplified installation and added reliability for all Allworx customers.
Hasenauer said, "PowerFlex allows our customers to have a complete Allworx solution from end-to-end and will improve our customers' experience by simplifying installation and support of our systems. Our customers have been asking us to provide additional products built with the reliability they have come to know with our existing products. PowerFlex does exactly that."
The Rochester, N.Y.- based Allworx provides VoIP unified communications systems to a large number of industries, including not-for-profit and government locations through a network of authorized dealers. The company’s PowerFlex family of Ethernet switches comprises three products that are focused on matching the Allworx voice server sizes.
PowerFlex is future-ready and backward-compatible. Company officials said that all switches boast of various capabilities like Power over Ethernet, 10/100/100 speed and the capability to auto-configure when Allworx servers or phones are connected. These features help remove the need for lengthy installations and post installation troubleshooting.
Allworx parent Windstream is a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company specializing in the delivery of advanced network communications.
Windstream recently appointed Randy Nicklas, former CTO and senior vice president for XO Communications (News
- Alert), as the new executive vice president of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. Nicklas is now in charge of network planning and engineering, outside plant, records and capital management. Windstream provides cloud computing and managed services to businesses around the nation, as well as broadband, phone and digital television services to mostly rural consumers.
