Moxa recently unveiled EtherNet/IP and PROFINET-enabled managed switches for industrial PLC network applications. The newly released EDS (News - Alert)-405A/408A-EIP and the EDS-405A/408A-PN series include plug-n-play features that allow users to integrate without any additional configurations and manage the switches in existing SCADA systems.

Moxa’s EtherNet/IP and PROFINET-enabled managed switches boasts very fast network recovery and 10s fast booting time. Elaborating further on the EDS-405A/408A-EIP series and EDS-405A/408A-PN series, Moxa says that these switches can be directly installed into existing PLC networks to reduce deployment time.

These switches have the ability to support Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain network redundancy technologies. In the event of a connection failure, these switches facilitate quick network recovery, which translates into high network reliability for businesses.

Moxa claims that all its industrial managed switches can support EtherNet/IP communication for industrial automation applications. For this reason, users can select those devices that are ideal for each application requirement and benefit from seamless interoperability for industrial EtherNet/IP systems.

EDS-405A/408A-EIP series support Turbo Ring/ Turbo Chain for network redundancy; is ODVA certified and includes EtherNet/IP EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) file, custom AOI (Add On Instructions) file, and FactoryTalk View faceplate.

The EDS-405A/408A-PN series support Turbo Ring/ Turbo Chain for network redundancy; is PI certified and includes PROFINET GSD file, and SIMATIC STEP 7 device icons.

Moxa manufactures industrial networking, computing, and automation solutions. Its industrial Ethernet switches support a range of industrial automation protocols such as Modbus/TCP, CC-Link IE Filed, and FL-net.

Moxa introduced MGate 5101-PBM-MN this past February.
