'Pimp Out Your Existing PBX' with Patton at ITEXPO Austin 2012!

Currently in process at the Austin Convention Center in Austin Texas, ITEXPO Austin 2012 serves as a symbol of all of the latest and greatest in the rapidly evolving world of communications and technology. Ultimately working to offer an educational program to help corporate decision makers select the perfect IP-based voice, video, fax and unified communications solutions to improve their various operations, ITEXPO serves as the world’s largest event of its kind. Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, an esteemed provider of VoIP services and solutions ranging from Ethernet Extenders to Lync-certified Gateways to VoIP routers, will be exhibiting at booth #1014, and is sharing some of its insights into the highly anticipated event beginning today, October 2, until Friday, October 5.

About a month ago, I was able to speak with Tyler Delin, SmartNode product manager at Patton, as well as Sean Gerrity, regional director, North America and Japan, who detailed some insights into the company’s expectations and plans regarding ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin.

Delin stressed on the importance of Patton bringing complete, best-of-breed solutions rather than just hardware, adding that the company strives to continue combining its SmartNode Gateways and excellent, free customer support to offer industry leaders in today’s highly competitive market with the most highly sought-after, best-of-breed solutions.

But what exactly will the company be showcasing during the event?

Delin further elaborated that at one booth, Patton will be displaying its new SIP Enable solution with Vitelity, which offers users the ability to connect their existing legacy PBX (News - Alert) to Vitelity’s SIP trunks via Patton’s SmartNode VoIP Gateway.

As product manager at Patton’s Gaithersburg headquarters, where all SmartNode products are manufactured, Delin recently told me how excited the company is to be able to offer these innovative services for increased customer satisfaction and efficiency. “We are thrilled to partner with Vitelity to offer SIP Enable, offering customers who are unable to throw away their legacy PBX systems a simple, easy-to-configure solution for them to benefit from the added functionality and competitive calling plans of VoIP with their existing legacy telephony equipment,” he explained.

Further, Delin adds that on top of this, Vitelity brings additional offerings to the table, such as vFAX and SMS services.

It’s all too true that throwing away your perfectly functional PBX and investing in all new IP telephony equipment is not only expensive but completely inconvenient. Delin challenges users to think of it in a different way, asking, “Why not just pimp out your existing PBX?”

Patton will certainly be busy at ITEXPO Austin, where it will also be involved at another booth to showcase its complete line of IP-PBX solutions, which integrate with existing legacy telephony equipment and POTS lines with the 3CX Phone (News - Alert) System.

So what are some industry trends the company is keeping its eye open for? Gerrity anticipates a heavy focus on SIP trunking integration services that work with existing telephony systems within the enterprise. This is largely due to the fact that many businesses can’t afford or don’t want to buy wholesale replacement for their phone systems that are perfectly operational.

It’s not an unjustifiable reason, either, and Patton understands this.

“Patton is playing into that real world market need with solutions that offer a SIP-base PBX, with cost savings and richer features for the end users. Patton’s SmartNode VoIP gear SIP enables the enterprise without having to throw out perfectly good equipment that still has plenty of life in it,” Gerrity explains.

The company also added that they’re looking forward to meeting other innovative, revolutionary thinkers in the industry who are looking for the most cost-effective and productivity enhancing solutions for their enterprise-class converged voice and data communications, as well as the carrier-providers who deliver them.

"We are eager to learn face to face what the people out there really want most from us as a VoIP equipment manufacturer.  We also look forward to showing off some of the total-package bundled solutions we have put together with our partners,” Gerrity concludes.

Be sure to stop by and visit Patton this week at ITEXPO Austin at booth #1014 to learn more!
