Patton Helping Companies Move From Serial Communications To Ethernet/IP Solutions

Many Internet enthusiasts have taken advantage of serial communications as the main solution for their communication systems. Serial communications has been used for more than a decade to help with telecommunication and computer science. The process can be slow, but reliable. Now, Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a VoIP communications provider, is revolutionizing the way computers can send information by migrating serial services to an Ethernet/IP solution for device communication.

Serial communication sends data one bit at a time over a communication channel. Serial computer buses have become more commonly used and have become the norm for most companies. It can be used for all long-haul communication and most computer networks, where the cost of cable and synchronization difficulties male parallel communication impractical.

Eventually, all technology becomes obsolete as more solutions become developed. Today, Ethernet is the predominant and most popular working technology used in office and home environments. Ethernet is freely available, can be setup quickly, is fairly inexpensive and user friendly. In addition, Ethernet technology remains reliable, fast, compatible with standardized cable connections and remains error-free at high speeds.

Patton has been working hard on its new IpStatMux Model 3038 to assist businesses in helping migrate their systems from a serial communication platform to an all-IP setup. The equipment allows for companies to transmit up to eight asynchronous EIA-232/V.24 data streams – allowing for a smooth transition to Ethernet/IP.

To help companies learn more about the benefits of working with an Ethernet/IP communications system, Patton will be offering a webinar called, “Migrating Serial to Ethernet/IP for Device Communication.” The webinar will teach attendees the benefits of migrating and give a fully understanding of real-world scenarios and how to use the communication equipment.

In addition, Patton will discuss the solutions it has developed and offer presentations and speeches including its EVP, Burton A. Patton, and Senior Product Line Manager, Nathan Meyer. You can register for the webinar, which takes place on September 18, through their website.
