RadiSys Corporation launched its Promentum ATCA-7220, which is an AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) packet processing blade that provides highest available Gigabit Ethernet
density and throughput. The product is said to be first of its kind in the industry which enables highest density of Gigabit Ethernet interfaces in a single slot.

RadiSys ATCA-7220 incorporates two industry leading Cavium Networks (News - Alert) OCTEON™ Plus multi-core processors with a powerful architecture which are used for intense packet processing application with or without I/O.
New Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) module made by RadiSys, ATCA-7220 , provides complete solution for packet processing applications such as Radio Network Controllers, session border control (SBC
), security gateways, edge routers and media gateways. It has higher processing power and bandwidth access than other platforms which are available in the market today.
ATCA-7220 is a single slot ATCA module which is designed with Cavium Network's OCTEON Plus multi-core MIPS64 processor and supports 10 GE fabric interface. This provides highest throughput and wire speed, giving manufacturers a competitive advantage in taking next-generation equipment to market earlier.
ATCA-7220 architecture also has a Smart Front End with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch with content aware capabilities, which enables offloading preprocessing from the Cavium Processors. This enhances manageability of the processors and also enables flexible data flow, to and from the processors.
ATCA-7220 helps companies by minimizing their capital expenditures, by reducing the amount of equipment needed and gives superior density and throughput for each slot.
ATCA-7220 features RadiSys’s optimized and fully validated IP
data path software, IPV4/V6, which improves manufacturer's to accelerate their time to market and money. The future-proof ATCA platform gives manufacturers a clear path to migrate easily to the next generation of OCTEON processors.

Density of I/O and packet processing makes ATCA-7220 suitable for reducing the costly foot print required for next-generation network
infrastructure. The product also includes a local management processor to enable cutting edge technology management functions and offers front or rear I/O.

RadiSys ATCA SYS (News - Alert)-6010 platform is a 10-Gigabit ATCA Application Ready Platform. It integrates 10 GE switch and control module, dual-core compute module, SAS/FC storage modules, STM-1/OC-3, PDH and Gigabit line card modules and platform software including data path software to meet the next generation performance requirements for the target applications.
RadiSys products include embedded boards, application enabling platforms and turn-key systems, which are used in today's complex computing, processing and network intensive applications.
