Mellanox (News - Alert) Technologies has announced a beta lab bundle promotion for its 10- and 40- Gigabit Ethernet end-to-end connectivity products.

Mellanox 10- and 40-Gigabit Ethernet end-to-end connectivity products offer end-to-end solutions deliver high bandwidth to data hungry applications along with low end-to-end latency enabling data centers to operate with high performance and efficiency for a better end user experience and infrastructure ROI.

To deliver up to 2.88TB/s of non-blocking throughput in a single 1U enclosure, the 36-port 10/40GbE SX1035 high density switch with QSFP connectors is designed with Mellanox’s SwitchX architecture. For faster application response time, the SX1035 switch delivers unrivaled latency performance as low as 230ns at 40GbE and 250ns at 10GbE. The SX1035 offers flexible configurations supporting up to 36 40GbE connections or 64 10GbE connections, to meet the diverse needs of data centers of all sizes.

“Mellanox’s SwitchX and ConnectX solutions give IT managers flexibility in how they deploy higher bandwidth to servers, providing simple upgrade paths from gigabit Ethernet to 40 Gigabit Ethernet,” said Marc Sultzbaugh, vice president of worldwide sales at Mellanox Technologies. “We are pleased to offer this limited time bundle to our customers so that they may quickly gain hands-on experience and see the many benefits Mellanox’s end-to-end 40 Gigabit Ethernet solutions deliver to their business.”

While maintaining extremely low system power consumption to offer optimized latency and performance for converged I/O infrastructures, the ConnectX-3 10 and 40GbE adapter cards boost application efficiency and scalability. Doubling the throughput of prior generations, the high bandwidth eliminates the need for multiple Ethernet connections to the server. Delivering efficient RDMA transport over Layer 2 Ethernet with latencies less than 1.3us, ConnectX-3 accelerates RDMA applications with hardware-based RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet).

Recently, the company announced that it will make generally available its ConnectX-3 adapter technology. John Monson, vice president of product marketing, says that the product is unique because it can enable connections via 10 and 40 gigabit Ethernet technology, FDR 56gpbs InfiniBand, or a combination of the two. It features a next-generation PCI (News - Alert) Express 3.0 host bus and allows for virtualization.
