The constant reliance on enterprise communications means significant opportunity for companies competing in this space. For those able to keep a direct pulse on current needs and trends, market dominance is almost certain. For Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom, this focus has been a key priority and at ITEXPO earlier this month, Michael Davis, senior vice president and general manager, shared his insights.

Tadiran has been in the market with a focus on enterprise communications for more than 50 years. Davis often refers to Tadiran as the best kept secret in the telephony and UCC (unified communications and collaboration) space. Today, the telecom is trying to transform its operation into where its leaders believes the industry is going. As a result, the focus is solely on a fully software-based solution for UCC platform and contact center.

The market holds a lot of promise for companies like Tadiran and Davis believes it is leading the way in the technology transition with things like video conferencing, collaboration and screen sharing, audio and more. Plus, Tadiran is working on what it considers to be ground-breaking innovations in WebRTC and expects to be the leader in this technology. The company’s systems are currently fully SIP-based, enabling them to lead the future in telephony space.

Plus, companies today are viewing the ability to define the customer as a key necessity. Just five years ago, large enterprises were talking about UCC and put it in place to dominate the market. Today, small and medium sized companies are sitting up and paying attention. They all want the same functionality the big guys have, according to Davis, and now the system is reaching from 10 users to 5,000 users and everything in between, giving all users the same functionality.

As much of the market is focusing on the killer app, Davis believes it is the contact center and telephony on the same platform. For too long, these two apps have functioned separately, draining resources to ensure integration. Tadiran is now bringing these two apps together on one server to bring efficiency to both apps, improving workflows for the end user.

The big key to efficiency in collaboration and enterprise communications is transparency. It’s no longer enough to ensure you have a dial tone. To be competitive, companies need to be able to see what co-workers are doing and understand how they can improve contract rates with presence and video conferencing. These elements are critical to achieve a competitive advantage and consistent evolution of the technology to continue to push innovation is a must.
