ServiceNow (News - Alert) has carved out quite a niche for itself in the enterprise space, rising through the ranks to take on companies like Salesforce, Workday, CA and HP. But while its competitors specialize in CRM and other niche areas, ServiceNow has a broader enterprise specialization. And now the company is becoming a major enterprise cloud contender.

The company made headlines at the beginning of this year, announcing more than $1 billion in revenues for 2015 and becoming the second enterprise cloud company behind Salesforce to achieve that milestone. That number is set to jump to nearly $1.4 billion this year as the company continues to make a play in SaaS and enterprise cloud solutions.

This week, ServiceNow solidified its partnership with Microsoft (News - Alert), announcing that its Cloud Management solution supports Azure cloud infrastructure. The goal is to offer enterprises greater visibility and control over their Azure infrastructure using ServiceNow, an important feature as enterprises increasingly adopt cloud services and solutions.

Companies like Integrhythm, a growing consulting firm specializing in ServiceNow implementations, will also benefit from the Microsoft partnership and the greater tools and insights it provides for enterprise cloud implementations.

“Leveraging a cloud environment like Microsoft Azure for rapid application development provides enterprises tremendous agility to foster innovation,” said Dave Wright, chief strategy officer, ServiceNow. “However, this ease and speed can quickly overwhelm an IT organization. Our mutual customers now have the tools to quickly deploy their cloud resources while also maintaining control and compliance across all public, private and hybrid clouds.”

Enterprise cloud adoption is driving infrastructure growth, with Gartner (News - Alert) forecasting the cloud applications services market will reach $37.7 billion this year. Infrastructure management and insights will be key factors driving growth, and companies like ServiceNow and its consulting partners will be instrumental in ensuring the enterprise cloud thrives and offers maximum value.
