Wipro (News - Alert) Ltd.’s Managed File Transfer as a Service is now running on Amazon Web Services. As a result, businesses like Affinia Group now have access to this enterprise cloud service, which enables them to integrate digitally with their clients, employees, and partners.

That’s important for Affinia, says Prakash Matada, vice president of IT applications at the firm, because its internal business processes related to bank statements, invoices, and other documentation involve file transfers. Matada adds that legacy solutions were not up to the job, but that the MFTaaS platform is the ideal solution for this application given it doesn’t require additional investments in product or support, and it employs a multi-tenant architecture.

Indeed, MFTaaS can handle millions of file transfers among a broad spectrum of global companies, potentially reducing by 30 percent their total cost of ownership.

“Wipro’s Managed File Transfer platform is a good example of an [AWS Partner Network] Partner creating a unique and innovative proposition to solve customers’ business challenges by leveraging the power of cloud and the rapid pace of innovation at AWS,” says Terry Wise, AWS’s vice president of worldwide partner ecosystem. “We are excited to work with Wipro to help clients gain the true benefit of the cloud.”

The managed file transfer market is poised to grow to more than $1,542.2 million by 2020 from $939.5 million last year, according to Reportbuyer.com.

“Managed file transfer solutions are designed to offer control and monitoring over the file transfer process and they assist the end users in confronting the challenges of data security and compliance mandates,” Reportbuyer.com explains. “Various business functions such as warehousing, manufacturing, and human resource are utilizing managed file transfer solutions to move the application initiated file transfers to other applications or people.”

As for AWS, in 2015 it had $7.88 billion in revenue, and its fourth quarter 2015 revenues were up 69 percent over the previous year. Meanwhile, the worldwide cloud computing market saw $110 billion in revenues last year, according to Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group, which said that was up 28 percent. And IDG Enterprise Marketing in November of last year reported that 72 percent of organizations have at least one application in the cloud or a portion of their computing infrastructure in the cloud.
