VoIP gateway manufacturer VegaStream today unveiled additions to its product line, its United States-based team, and its national sales and business-development offices.

The two additions to the companys product line the Vega 5024 and Vega 5048 gateways bring the Vega 400 architecture into the VegaStream analog product line.

Designed for enterprises looking to efficiently and cost-effectively move to IP networks, both the Vega 5024 gateway and the Vega 5048 gateway connect analog phone systems to an IP network, simultaneously providing two additional network-facing analog ports for connection to a telephone line or analog PBX. As with all VegaStream dedicated VoIP gateways, these two new gateways are interoperable with a broad range of existing telecommunications and VoIP equipment.

The Vega 5024 provides 24 ports for connection to standard analog phones, while the 5048 model provides 48 ports. Both gateways can act as customer premises and PSTN gateways in carrier networks; as well, they can act as VoIP networking and IP telephony gateways in an enterprise setting. Both platforms are designed to allow carriers and enterprises the ability to eliminate the need for an infrastructure forklift by enabling standard analog phones to connect to a corporate or Internet telephony service provider network.

VegaStreams range of dedicated VoIP gateways consist of standards-based platforms that enable enterprises to have access to essential VoIP services, and allow carriers to deliver services to any customer without requiring changes to their existing infrastructure.

In other company news, VegaStream today also announced a number of key appointments to its U.S.-based team, necessary, according to the company, to meet the increasing demand for its line of analog and IP VoIP gateways.

VegaStream has appointed Robert Brakeman as VP Operations & General Manager, North America; a role in which he is responsible for VegaStreams day-to-day operations in North America. Most recently, Brakeman served as Director of Channel Development for AudioCodes, a capacity in which he was responsible for developing and managing AudioCodes channel program in North America.

Also, Donald Krause, Director of Service Provider Sales of North America, will lead VegaStreams sales efforts targeting incumbent carriers as well as emerging VoIP-centric providers. With more than 17 years of telecommunications experience, Krause brings forth knowledge in the IOC, CLEC, IXC and ISP space.

The final new appointment, Ronald J. Bleakney Jr. has been tapped as Director of OEM and Major Account Sales for North America. Bleakney Jr. brings with him more than 15 years of professional, advanced technology sales experience.

With these appointments today, VegaStream is building a nimble and talented world-class organization able to move quickly move from thought leadership to market leadership in the VoIP gateway market, said Brakeman in a company statement.

In addition to its new products and team members, VegaStream has also expanded the range and reach of its San Diego headquarters by opening regional sales and business development offices in the following locations: San Jose, Calif.; Research Triangle Park, N.C.; and Boston, Mass.
