VegaStream Partners With vCentrix for Gateway Deployment

By Johanne Torres, Contributing Editor

VoIP gateway manufacturer VegaStream announced on Tuesday that Bedford, Mass.-based vCentrix tapped the company to introduce a suite of VegaStream VoIP gateways to their carrier partners. Vcentrix provides branded wholesale VoIP services to CLECs, MSOs and ISPs, including provisioning, billing and subscriber management systems.

"VegaStream is excited to work with vCentrix on their initiative to offer a world-class VoIP services to their service provider customers," noted Donald Krause, director of service provider sales, North America, for VegaStream. "As a provider of world-class VoIP systems and services to a variety of respected service providers, vCentrix requires cost-effective, highly reliable VoIP solutions. We are proud that they chose to partner with VegaStream."

The deal will enable vCentrix to deploy the entire VegaStream product line, including the Vega 400 digital gateway and the Vega 50 family of analog gateways. Headquartered in, vCentrix offers a world class VoIP services platform with an integrated and branded OSS toolset designed to serve their market channels. The vCentrix network is designed and built to provide the QoS and SLA standards expected by their carrier customers.

VegaStream's VoIP gateway suite is a set of standards-based platforms that enable enterprises to have access to mission critical VoIP services, and let carriers deploy services to any customer without requiring changes to their existing infrastructure.

"We chose to work with VegaStream because of their cost-effective solutions that are easy to use and easy to deploy," said Don Lake, vCentrix's COO. "Our service provider customers rely on us to provide and support the highest quality VoIP solutions possible, but without the high costs. Both the Vega 50 and Vega 400 enable our partners to leverage the promise of VoIP savings and opportunity without having to rip out and replace their current architecture."

VegaStream made news back in August when it became a Premier Tenant in tekVizion Labs, a lab which offers third-party certification and testing for VoIP products and services, VegaStream and tekVizion PVS Inc. Vendors who become "Premier Tenants" agree to designate tekVizion Labs as their authorized test facility. According to the companies' news release, "Premier Tenants provide their product(s) to tekVizion Labs to be used in certification testing performed by tekVizion Labs and/or to make them available for remote and/or solution testing.

"Our relationship with tekVizion is yet another example of VegaStream's commitment to making business sense of VoIP. We want our customers to be able to quickly and painlessly install our VoIP gateways, turn up service, and generate a positive ROI," said Robert Brakeman, VP operations and general manager North America for VegaStream back then.

If you will be attending the Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO taking place at the this week at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, please don't miss VegaStream's own general manager Robert Brakeman's session on Open Systems & Network Equipment Design on Thursday, January 26 at 8:30-9:15am; and VegaStream's own director of partner programs, Ron Bleakney's session on SIP Interoperability on Thursday, 26 at 12:30-1:15pm.
