VegaStreams Vega 5048 analog VoIP gateway named to Internet Telephonys prestigious list of outstanding 2005 products

TMCnet News

London, UK, and San Diego – December 22, 2005: Dedicated VoIP gateway manufacturer VegaStream today announced that Internet Telephony has named its Vega 5048 analog gateway as Product of the Year. The Vega 5048 gateway connects analog phones systems to an IP network and is thought to be the largest known analog VoIP gateway on the market today.

Designed for enterprises looking to move efficiently and cost-effectively to IP networks, the Vega 5048 provides 48 ports for connection to standard analog phones, and can act as a customer premises and PSTN gateway in carrier networks; and/or VoIP networking and IP telephony gateways in an enterprise setting.

“VegaStream is honored to be chosen as an Internet Telephony Product of the Year,” said Tim Burne, CEO for VegaStream. “This award is a validation of our commitment to providing enterprises and carriers with the ability to migrate to VoIP at their own pace and leverage their existing TDM equipment, including their analog handsets.”

“Internet Telephony’s annual Product of the Year list is a valuable resource for service providers looking for solutions to achieve their business goals,” said Rich Tehrani, president and editor-in-chief for Internet Telephony. “VegaStream, as a leading provider of VoIP gateways, was an important addition to our list this year.”

The Vega 5048 is proven interoperable with a wide range of existing telecommunications and VoIP equipment. In addition, its double density makes VoIP possible even for the most cost-conscious enterprises, which take ROI into consideration when deploying new technology. The analog function allows carriers and enterprises to eliminate the need for an infrastructure forklift by enabling standard analog phones to connect to a corporate or Internet telephony service provider network, and ultimately allows carriers to leverage existing TDM equipment as long as possible and migrate to VoIP at their own pace.

VegaStream’s wide range of dedicated VoIP gateways are cost-effective, standards-based platforms that enable enterprises to have access to essential VoIP services, and let carriers deliver services to any customer without requiring changes to their existing infrastructure. From the Vega 400 digital gateway—a carrier-grade platform that connects digital telephony equipment to the public network—to the latest Vega 5024 and Vega 5048 analog gateways, all of VegaStream’s products help streamline the introduction of essential VoIP services.
