AudioCodes Mediant 4000 E-SBC Receives Microsoft Lync 2010 Certification
By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer
Provider of VoIP technologies, AudioCodes, recently had its Mediant 4000 Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) officially qualified for use with Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync 2010. This makes the Mediant 4000 the latest in a rich portfolio of AudioCodes products to receive Lync qualification.
The Mediant 4000 is a highly scalable E-SBC capable of supporting up to 4,000 concurrent sessions per device, providing large unified communications and contact center deployments with secure and reliable connectivity to SIP trunking and cloud-bases services.
Indeed, this E-SBC has been selected by a dozen service providers and large organizations already, since its launch in July 2012.
For example, a global financial services firm uses the Mediant 4000 to connect its Lync server in Canada to a local SIP trunking service provider, while a major telecom carrier in Asia uses the E-SBC in nine different sites of a distributed Genesys (News - Alert) contact center.
"The high capacity of the Mediant 4000 fits well in large scale unified communications and contact center deployments," said Nimrod Borovsky, VP Marketing at AudioCodes (News - Alert). "Our ability to provide secure and resilient connectivity along with a complete view of voice quality in the network addresses the increased demand by both on-premise equipment and hosted services customers."
AudioCodes is a source of VoIP technologies and voice network products, and is a Microsoft Gold certified partner. The company will provide Microsoft voice-specialized partners with an array of voice solutions to enhance the speed of migration to Lync.
Back in July, AudioCodes entered a partnership with Microsoft Unified Communications (News - Alert) solution integrators in Latin America in an effort to accelerate the deployment of Microsoft Lync in the region.
In September, the company submitted its 300HD and 400HD IP phone series for Microsoft Lync compatibility testing. The testing is still ongoing, but AudioCodes expects these product series to receive qualification before the end of the year.
