AudioCodes (News - Alert), a provider of connectivity and security solutions between enterprises and service providers’ VoIP networks, today released its financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2012. All in all, the company's financial performance for the quarter continued its overall trend of growth for the year.
Revenue for the quarter was $31.4 million, up from $31.0 million for the second quarter of 2012, but falling short of the $36.0 million posted in Q3 2011. The company reported a net loss for the quarter, in generally accepted accounting principle (GAAP) terms, of $1.1 million, compared to $2.0 million for the second quarter of the year and $527,000 for the same period last year.
In non-GAAP terms — which excludes stock-based compensation expenses and amortization expenses related to intangible assets — the net loss for Q3 2012 was $419,000, compared to $1.4 million during Q2 and a non-GAAP net income of $274,000 for the third quarter of 2011.
"We are pleased to report a return to sequential growth and improved financial performance for the third quarter of 2012," said Shabtai Adlersberg, chairman, president and chief executive officer of AudioCodes. "Third quarter revenues demonstrate growth in key emerging business lines for the company, including with respect to the session border controller (SBC) and multi-service business router (MSBR) activities. We saw increased traction of our strategy to focus on the growing markets of unified communications, contact centers and business communications services, and experienced growing collaboration with our industry partners, which we believe will help us grow in coming years."
It appears that the final quarter of 2012 is likely to continue the AudioCodes' sequential growth trend as, in October alone, the company made a couple of significant strides. First, at TMC's (News - Alert) ITEXPO West 2012, the company's entire Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) product family received ShoreTel Innovation Network validation, allowing for deployment of ShoreTel (News - Alert) unified communications systems with AudioCodes E-SBCs.
Second, the company was selected by Bezeq, the largest telecommunications organization in Israel, to help provide high-end data services to its business customers by way of the AudioCodes Mediant MSBR (Multi-Service Business Routers) lineup.
