New products have been added to its Mediant portfolio by AudioCodes. These products have qualified in Microsoft’s (News - Alert) UC Open Interoperability Program for Microsoft Lync 2010. Any size of branch office or business can now avail the Enhanced Gateways and Survivable Branch Appliances or SBAs from the Mediant portfolio. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top provider of Voice over IP or VoIP technologies, AudioCodes (News - Alert).
According to Kevin Carswell who is the Chairman and CEO of The Via Group, the organization has been working very closely with AudioCodes for several years.
In a release, Carswell said, "The addition of their high availability Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway (News - Alert) for large enterprise headquarters and regional offices and the Mediant 800 Enhanced Gateway and SBA for survivable branch solutions for small locations to their Mediant 1000 and 2000 Enhanced Gateways and SBAs enables The Via Group to offer our customers the most comprehensive scaling and reliability options available on the market today from AudioCodes."
According to Kapil Sharma who is the principal group program manager for Lync Partner Engineering Team at Microsoft Corp, the organization has been working with AudioCodes from the time Microsoft’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) Open Interoperability Program was started.
Sharma said, "Mediant 800 SBA, announced by AudioCodes today, will help our distributed enterprise customers provide cost-effective survivable branch solutions for their small locations. The Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway will support large enterprise customers that need highly available media gateways, supporting thousands of simultaneous, high-quality calls between Lync clients and the Public Switched Telephone Network."
The AudioCodes Mediant 800 Multi-Service Business Gateway is the basis for the AudioCodes Mediant 800 SBA. The SBA features an integrated Dual Core, High Performance Intel (News - Alert)-based Server along with FXS, FXO, BRI and E1/T1 PSTN interface options. The SBA also features a PoE switch, router and multiple WAN access options.
Large enterprise locations are offered the highly available, high density Media Gateway, the Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway. Apart from an integrated Enterprise Session Border Controller, the Mediant 3000 can support up to 2000 PSTN channels using E1/T1, T3 or STM-1/OC-3 connections.
