With the expansion of the NetMotion Mobility software installation across the Puget Sound Blood Center (PSBC), blood drive workers employed at that Center are about to enjoy uninterrupted access to the organization’s central Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS).
Tony Sheehan, network services manager at PSBC, explained, “When working with donors on mobile blood drives, our staff needs a permanent connection to BECS so they can confirm whether donors are eligible to give blood. If we don’t have the connection, we can’t access that donor record information, causing delays or wasting critical time for our donors and staff. Mobility ensures seamless system access for not just these teams but also for other employees working remotely.”

The NetMotion Mobility enabled the workers at the PSBC to enjoy reliable, secure wireless connectivity and also equipped the center with more control. Mobile workers also had the freedom to make custom policies around device, application and network access so that they can effectively manage all deployed devices, both corporate and employee-owned.
Until now, NetMotion Mobility was implemented in only a portion of PSBC’s 350 corporate laptops. After evaluating the benefits and features of Mobility, the center decided to adopt the more dependable Mobility across the enterprise and it will now be installed across a range of devices including laptops, tablets and handheld scanners.
NetMotion cited this expansion by PSBC as an example of customers evaluating its solution only to realize that going with NetMotion was and continues to be the right choice.
NetMotion added that its enterprise mobility management suite is designed to deliver the connectivity, visibility and control one needs to solve the many challenges of mobile computing and help them realize benefits like increased worker productivity, informed troubleshooting and management decisions regarding their mobile networks and an overall successful mobile deployment.
