Bringing satellite technology to the common users without any strings attached, Globalstar (News - Alert) Europe Satellite Services Ltd. has launched its new Pre-paid service in EMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa). This helps users to stay connected even when they venture beyond their mobile phone networks.
This new service is useful for various sectors, including fishermen, emergency workers, leisure boat owners, oil/gas workers and many others. This service from Globalstar is also economically viable as these people go out only sporadically and having a regular contract in place will not be the best option for them.
Globalstar offers the option of 10 different card denominations for its pre-paid customers. It also provides personal cards which allow the users to mostly use the phone for themselves. The company also enables shared pre-paid credit on the already activated Post-paid Globalstar phones across all services. According to Globalstar, it is the only company in the world that provides such a service.
This new prepaid service also allows the customers to roam across the Globalstar Europe Home Zone without incurring any expenses. Also, the service is provided in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German and Arabic languages.
“We want people to think of satellite communications in a whole new way,” said Globalstar President and CEO, Jay Monroe. With Pre-paid service, satellite phone users have more freedom than ever before. With the launch of our Pre-paid service, especially Shared Pre-paid, we are introducing entirely new groups of users to satellite telephony,” he continued. If people were ever worried that using a satellite phone was beyond their reach, too expensive or too much of a contractual commitment, they now have a simple solution with Globalstar.”
Globalstar is gearing up its satellite based solutions to provide improved services to its customers. Recently, the company signed an authorized distribution agreement with E-SAT.
