Bluegrass Cellular has renewed its contract with Interop (News - Alert) Technologies, a wireless solutions for advanced messaging service company. The new multi-year agreement will allow Bluegrass to continue to take advantage of Interop’s over-the-air (OTA) handset management, connectivity gateways and a new multiple, cloud-based set of mobile services.
Bluegrass Cellular (News - Alert) offers phones, devices, and plans for nationwide coverage for Kentucky state residents. It received its Rural Service Areas within central Kentucky back in 1989 and has worked with the FCC (News - Alert) and other independent partnerships to help offer cellular service for all 34 counties in the state.
“There’s a big difference between a network and a community,” said Bluegrass Cellular. “Being part of a community is empowering. You feel you can do anything, because those around you will always be by your side, supporting you every step of the way.”
To keep offering Kentucky residents the latest and greatest in technology, Bluegrass partnered with Interop to offer everything from SMS, MMS, OTA, and Interactive Voice Response. Additionally, the contract allows Bluegrass to take advantage of Interop’s messaging personalization and control solution and its wireless applications protocol service. Both of these next-generation technologies give consumers access to filter their own messages, login to a subscriber portal, access billing information, and more. This contract allows both Bluegrass and Interop Technologies to continue to work together offering the best mobile solutions to its client base.
“We are pleased to continue to deliver the highest-quality mobile services to our subscribers by extending our long-term relationship with Interop Technologies,” said Barry Nothstine, VP of sales and marketing at Bluegrass Cellular. “By adding RCS to our service portfolio, we ensure the availability of the most advanced messaging technology to our customers while maintaining the security and reliability they have come to expect from our services.”
John Buckford, SVP, Regional US and CALA at Interop Technologies agreed with Nothstine. “By leveraging the Interop cloud solutions, Bluegrass Cellular benefits from the latest technology without CAPEX investment,” said Bickford. "We are happy to support Bluegrass in providing innovative, best-in-class services to its subscribers.”
