Ipswitch Strong Revenue Growth Marks an Endorsement of the Business Value, Company Says

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Ipswitch (News - Alert), a developer of network management, messaging, and secure and managed file transfer solutions, recently announced that revenue increased by 12 percent in 2007 to the highest level in its 16-year history.

The Massachussettes-based company increase is attributed to a 26 percent growth rate for WhatsUp Gold, the company’s flagship network management product, new versions of WS_FTP Pro and WS_FTP Server, and renewed interest in IMail Server, Ipswitch’s messaging solution, according to Ipswitch CEO, Roger Greene.

“We have always strived to deliver reliable products that are easy to install, manage and use,” said Ipswitch CEO, Roger Greene. “Ipswitch is in a good position to extend our reach beyond our base of millions of users to include new customers who need reliability, availability and performance and want to align information technology solutions with their business priorities.”

Demand for Ipswitch products, says Greene, have been strong throughout the world with partner COMPUTERLINKS experiencing a 30 percent growth in sales of Ipswitch products in the UK alone

Recently WhatsUp Gold was awarded Redmond Magazine’s Editor’s Choice for 2008 in the Works-Right-Out-of-the-Box category. The award was based on criteria developed by Redmond Magazine editors who assessed products that make it easy for IT administrators to streamline their operations to save money and time.

Ipswitch also recently announced WhatsUp Gold Distributed Edition. The new version offers businesses an easy-to-use, easy-to-deploy, centralized network management solution for organizations of up to 1,000 employees with geographically dispersed operations and limited IT staff.

Ipswitch WS_FTP Server 6 and Ipswitch WS_FTP Server 6 with SSH were launched in June. The enhanced and expanded WS_FTP Servers deliver strong security, auditing, high-availability and remote administration capabilities, all of which are vital to organizations seeking to protect data, audit file transfers and automate file transfer processes.

Ipswitch released IMail Server 2006.2 in April, continuing its history of software products that are easy to use, require little or no IT administration and deliver a clear and rapid return on investment. The importance of a secure email server was highlighted a few months later when Ipswitch’s popular Spamometer revealed that 95 percent of all email is spam, the highest rate ever. This figure was 93 percent the previous quarter and 70 percent for the same period in 2006.
