Vixxi's Management Team Heads to Denver

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

As Vixxi Solutions (News - Alert) transitions from relocating its corporate headquarters from Dallas to Denver in a bid partly designed to leverage Denver’s strong emphasis on public safety, the nationwide Enhanced 9-1-1 (E911) is counting on the continued strength of a solid management team.

The management team represents years of experience in emergency communications, telecommunications, Federal security, IP Networks, network design and implementation and network carrier industries.

The key members of the management team are outlined below:

Christopher Camut, President & CEO

As EVP at Vercuity from 2006 to 2008, the industry leader in telecom expense management, Mr. Camut focused on identifying deliverables and then executing on the promise. His initiatives on process efficiency dramatically increased customer satisfaction and decreased cost. One of his realized goals was to build better teamwork and a heightened spirit of competition for problem solving and customer service.

Prior to his work at Vercuity, Camut was President and General Manager at Landmark Communication, 2005 to 2006, the leading media company in South Florida, with interests in print, television, and internet services. Mr. Camut was able to manage day to day operations while leading a restructuring effort in one of their large data centers. He also implemented a new network technology of ethernet over copper in several of their businesses.

From 2002 through 2005, another venture backed company that utilized the talents of Mr. Camut was Accelacom of Maryland, a leading provider of wireless, broadband, and data services. As president and COO of Accelcom, he was charged with implementing the capital deployment plan, generating sales growth, (two consecutive years of month-over-month sales growth,) and expanding into the surrounding areas of Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. This three year process ended with the sale to Airband of Texas.

From 1995 to 2002, Camut worked in an arena that many C-level executives never have the chance to learn about -- marketing, sales and sales management. From 2000 forward, he was the senior manager of Data Sales at Nextlink/XO Communications (News - Alert) and developed their first national Major Account team. The resultant effort catapulted the team to the #1 position nationwide in bundled product sales.

In 1999, Camut was hired in the sales department at Allegiance Telecom Inc. in Washington, DC, and within four months was promoted to sales manager. He exceeded revenue and sales quota from the beginning of his tenure until he left. At Benjamin Obdyke Inc. in Maryland, 1997 and 1998, Camut was National Marketing and Sales Manager overseeing 65 million in national sales. Here he had the opportunity to design and execute the channel/product marketing strategy to the tune of $2 million plus in the first year. From 1994 through 1997, Camut was employed as Regional sales manager with Milcor in Baltimore, Maryland, and prior to that with Green Leaf and Associates, in Cleveland, Ohio.

RIchard A. Peters, Chief Technical Officer
Peter's entire career has been a process of preparing for the leadership of VIxxi. Not only has he been a consultant in all aspects of emergency communications, he has built upon an earlier career with major telecommunications companies, including GTE, AT&T (News - Alert) and Mountain Bell (Qwest), always in a top leadership position.
Peters was the founder and continues as CEO of Spatial Data, Inc., a company whose expertise spans the full length and breadth of GIS analysis, including emergency management, Web-based mapping applications, marketing demographics, Federal security, and wireline and wireless telecommunications planning.

Peters holds an undergraduate BS degree in engineering and a graduate degree in marketing from the University of Texas. He has attended numerous executive training programs at premier U.S. universities. As a former US Army Special Forces officer, he holds the rank of major in the US Army Reserves.

(formerly USURF America, Inc., an American Stock Exchange company) providing voice (local and long distance telephone services), video (cable and satellite TV) and data (high speed internet) services and real estate and planned community development.

McKinnon has served as Chief Executive Officer of IP Services, Inc., a next generation communications services provider using broadband Internet Protocol (IP) and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) based networks, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AVIRNEX Communications Group, Inc., a provider of retail telecommunications service including domestic and international long distance and enhanced services to small and medium-sized business customers and served as vice-president of ICG Communications, Inc, one of the country’s largest competitive local exchange carriers offering local, long distance, ATM, and frame relay services with a nationwide fiber optic infrastructure. Mr. McKinnon is a former practicing CPA with the SEC (News - Alert) practice section of Coopers & Lybrand.

Moving forward with AT&T during the transition period following the divestiture, Mrs. Peters occupied senior marketing leadership positions for AT&T until 2004, at which time she left to become more active in Spatial Data, being recently tapped to head up the national marketing program for Vixxi.
