911 ETC's Bill Svien to Join Industry Experts on 'Great E911 Debate' Panel

By Tammy Wolf, TMCnet Web Editor

For the last 10 years, Mark Fletcher, product manager for emergency services at Avaya (News - Alert), has focused much of his efforts on spreading the word on E911 for the enterprise user, explaining how it works and how should it should be properly managed, and revealing the nitty-gritty on how to develop and manage a cost-effective E911 hosted solution.

Equipped with an arsenal of knowledge, and having had the opportunity to work with several industry vendors for Avaya’s own feature set, Fletcher has decided to kick things up a notch. During the International Avaya Users Group’s Eastern connect conference, scheduled Nov. 6 to 9 in Newport, R.I., Fletcher will host the first-ever “Great E911 Debate” on Nov. 7, in which E911 experts from some of the industry’s most prominent companies will take on the toughest questions regarding E911.

911 ETC’s own vice president of corporate strategy, Bill Svien, has coveted one of the four seats on the debate stage and will be joined by fellow industry insiders Lev Deich of 911 Enable (News - Alert), Tim Kenyon of Conveyant Systems, and Ken Rosko of RedSky Technologies. Svien is responsible for overseeing 911 ETC’s daily operations and driving company growth.

While their respective companies may be competitors in the E911 field, all four E911 connoisseurs will come together in an open, structured environment to discuss, in detail, how E911 truly works, and answer some of the most pressing questions facing enterprise IP telephony deployments today.

In addition to moderated questions presented by Fletcher himself, the panel will also answer pre-submitted questions from the public, which can be sent to Fletcher by e-mailing fletcherm@avaya.com.
