Intrado (News - Alert) has entered into a strategic partnership with GuideSTAR Technologies, an innovative leader in intelligence-led policing systems used for early detection and interdiction of all crimes and threats.  

According to GuideSTAR officials, the company uses new and advanced software and decision-making techniques to produce powerful, real-time threat detection for public safety, law enforcement and fraud investigations. The GuideSTAR solution provides emergency responders with detailed information before they respond and helps investigators detect and solve more crimes, terror threats and fraud.

Officials with Intrado said that as per the terms of the agreement, GuideSTAR applications will be hosted and delivered using the company’s secure co-location and transport service. In adition, Intrado is also responsible for providing software development services for GuideSTAR’s suite of solutions and expanding threat protection and law enforcement investigation solutions.

The companies will work together on the development of new intelligent 9-1-1 response applications.

“This agreement with GuideSTAR underscores our ongoing commitment to creating partnerships that benefit public safety,” said Joe Hernandez, senior vice president for Intrado, in a statement.

Ron Fournet, CEO and founder of GuideSTAR Technologies said that the company is excited about its strategic partnership with Intrado in developing a new generation of public safety platforms.  “Intrado’s history of quality service combined with GuideSTAR’s advanced software will result in solutions unmatched for enhanced public safety and threat awareness,” said Fournet.

Recently, Intrado, a subsidiary of West Corporation and a leading provider of 9-1-1 technology solutions, announced that it has acquired the telecommunications business of PivotPoint Solutions, a major player in wireless location accuracy compliance reporting, analysis and optimization.

PivotPoint’s telecommunications solutions allow wireless carriers to monitor and optimize their location finding networks.

As a result of this transaction, wireless carriers of all sizes in the United States and Canada can receive PivotPoint’s industry-leading location accuracy reporting solution while also benefitting from Intrado’s advanced and secure 9-1-1 services delivery platform.
