Savvy company leaders are well aware of the benefits of smart analytics. Proper utilization of analyzing what your customers want can better help you deliver what they need as well, improving the bottom line and business overall.
Analytics Magazine sums it up best: “Analytics is a multi-disciplinary activity: the value from insight comes not from the activity but from the execution. Often, this crosses a variety of departments within an organization – few analytics groups have responsibility for both the insight creation and the execution of that insight. Because of this, selling the value of analytics isn’t just a goal for managers; it’s a necessary criterion for success.”
So it was no surprise that Allot Communications, a leading supplier of service optimization and revenue generation solutions for fixed and mobile broadband operators, announced that it has received a $4 million expansion order from a Tier-1 mobile operator in Europe for its Allot (News - Alert) Service Gateway.
"This operator joins a growing number of service providers around the world that are using Allot's DPI-based solutions to transform their own network data into an intelligent business tool," said Andrei Elefant, VP of marketing and product management for Allot, in a statement. (The company behind the expansion order preferred to remain unnamed.) "Using this network intelligence, operators can gain a competitive edge by deploying value-added services that both enhance the subscriber experience and increase the average revenue per user."
The client, which serves more than 15 million subscribers across its 3G and rapidly-growing LTE (News - Alert) networks, says it intends to utilize analytics collected from Allot’s Service Gateway to better understand subscriber activity and then tailor appropriate service plans for each customer segment.
That makes them one of the rare companies that sees the upside. TechRadar reports that research by German applications giant SAP (News - Alert) recently found that businesses are not using big data and predictive analytics to their full potential. “It's not that they fail to see the benefits,” TechRadar said. “Eighty-five percent of organizations surveyed said that predictive analytics had a positive impact on their business, and 77 percent believe that it helps them gain the upper hand over competitors.” The main stumbling block seemed to be skills, with three quarters of respondents finding that new data science skills are needed within the organization to take advantage of the technology.
This is where Allot has the advantage: The Allot Service Gateway (News - Alert) integrates network intelligence, policy enforcement and revenue-generating services in a modular, carrier-class solution. The Service Gateway is fully integrated with the Allot SMP and Allot's growing portfolio of value-added service enablers, providing a powerful and flexible service-enablement environment that opens up innovative ways to personalize and monetize the customer experience.
