The firm, best known for its Asterisk software, has named Allen Dillard Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Dillard is said to be working directly with CEO Danny Windham in order to set and manage the company’s financial strategy as it moves forward in the 21^st century.

Dillard comes to Digium after serving as the CEO of Mobular Technologies. While he was at that firm, he worked to strengthen the firm’s business strategy, sales and marketing as well as product management, finance and business operations. Having such an extensive resume with Mobular has made him an especially effective weapon as Digium attempts to keep pace with other companies that are making great strides in the DID and telephony market.

"We believe it's the right time to add an accomplished finance executive to the leadership team," Danny Windham, CEO of Digium said in a recent statement announcing the new hire. "Allen brings a very broad range of skills in financial management as well as operations and has experience in both private and public company roles. His expertise will be very valuable as Digium continues to grow."

The telephony market has been one that has adapted to the times more than others thanks to the sheer number of different technologies that are all falling under the same umbrella. This has led to firms like Digium and Vitcom to take steps to stand out from the pack. Digium has previously been able to find a way to stand out among the pack thanks to its Asterisk (News - Alert) solution. This platform is billed as one of the world’s most widely used open source communications software solutions. The company boasts a community of more than 80,000 developers and users worldwide in order to create rich, user friend VoIP communications solutions around the globe. Dillard will now help to oversee the continued growth of that platform and the company as a whole.
