When it comes to deployment and management solutions you'd like to have access to, how does this sound –being able to take control of a Cisco (News - Alert) phone from anywhere with network connectivity?
If you've done any work with troubleshooting remote site features like conferencing and call routing in the past, it is easy to see why help desk users enjoy that they can control the actual phone and see the phone screen when troubleshooting or training end users.?
In fact, thanks to the VoIP Integration Phone Remote capability you can easily manage your phone without any added complexity. It's one of those things you thought somebody should come up with, because it seemed so sensible, "Why can't a key stroke on a remote keyboard get sent to a phone as if it came from the phone itself?"
Well, now it does and this deployment and management solution offers a Call Manager complete with what company officials describe as "device association" that lets you control the phone via its IP address, and a Call Manager Admin with an AXL permissions search that lives within the Phone (News - Alert) Remote to power a phone through using its extension, description or MAC address."
What's even more useful is this solution also has a Call Me feature so you can configure a destination phone number for the remote device to call you on speaker phone. Don't let this fall in the hands of any practical jokers you might know however.
If you want to enter a series of key strokes and send them to the phone as a group you can do that as well, and use such functions as Call Info, Phone Reset and Factory Erase, as well as the included Capture feature, which is particularly cool as it grabs a screenshot of the Cisco phone as a .jpg file. This will make assembling training materials extremely simple.
We know you were wondering where that next great development and management solution was. Here it is.?
