Dedicated Server Provider Announces New Multi-Core Managed Server Line

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

DedicatedNOW, a provider of managed dedicated server and known for its “all-Intel (News - Alert) managed server line,” announced the launch of its all-new multi-core managed server line based on based on Intel's latest processors including the Atom 330, Core i3 530, Xeon 3430, Core i7 920, Xeon 5620 and the Xeon X5650 hexacore CPU.

The new managed dedicated serverline provides a wide-range of servers and includes many options and available features. These features make DedicatedNOW's server management accessible to smaller companies and startups while still being a viable option for performance-focused enterprises, company officials said.

DedicatedNOW had announced its all-Intel managed server line in 2008.

“When we created our managed server line, we canvassed our client base and industry professionals to get a real sense of what our clients and prospective clients would need for a complete managed dedicated server package,” Jason Silverglate, CEO, DedicatedNOW, said.

He added, “By leveraging vendor relationships, we were able to offer better service, more features and a better overall value proposition to our hosting customers.”

The relationships Silverglate is referring to include R1Soft and Applicure Technologies among others. The bundling of services like R1's backup and Applicure's dotDefender WAF product made their products appealing to clients, says Silveglate.

The company offers 50Gb of backup using R1Soft's continuous data protection or “CDP” which includes the MySQL hot restore feature, especially useful for database driven Web sites. Additionally, a fully licensed version of the dotDefender Web Application Firewall is included on cPanel servers with each managed server.

Additional freebies include secure socket layer virtual private network or “SSLVPN,” keyboard-video-mouse over Internet Protocol (KVM over IP), round the clock monitoring and the company's 100 percent uptime guarantee.

With the launch of the new product line, DedicatedNOW also reduced the price of its entry-level servers, while adding in the Xeon 5620 and X5650 CPU options, which include eight and twelve CPU cores, respectively, according to company officials.

In March TMCnet reported that DedicatedNOW successfully achieved 100 percent uptime of core network for the entire year 2009. Company officials attributed the achievement to its investment in data center infrastructure, engineering support, and backbone providers
