Power Assure, a provider of software defined power solutions for data centers, has unveiled the new EM/5 monitoring solution that features certified integration with ServiceNow.
According to officials, the EM/5 serves as a complete, hosted data center monitoring solution that delivers historical metrics to ServiceNow customers in real-time. It also uses asset databases, to reduce the time and cost of deploying a data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solution.
EM/5 has successfully completed several tests that are focused on integration interoperability, security and performance as defined for ServiceNow. The ServiceNow certification is proof that EM/5 is easy to deploy and use besides being optimized for metric aggregation, mobility and navigation.
The integrated platform enables enterprise data center operators to collect, manage and analyze real-time IT data that is available from facilities and IT equipment. This information can be used to derive business information to make decisions on enhancing the efficiency, capacity and performance of data centers in real time. This integration will also help ServiceNow customers to adopt a DCIM solution more readily.
The ServiceNow integrated GUI in EM/5 offers all the information on a ServiceNow user interface. The asset feature reveals relevant live metrics, while the menu section gives access to a graphical map, plan and views.
EM/5 allows collections of metrics from different sources. The aggregated data can be combined, displayed and stored as a stand-alone metric. Aggregations are unlimited and are used in chargebacks and analysis. The smartphone app feature can scan an asset tag (News - Alert) barcode of a particular device to reveal its live metrics on the smartphone and in the ServiceNow GUI.
In addition, the asset synchronization feature synchronizes EM/5 with ServiceNow configuration items, automatically. Customer definable templates enable the filling of all common fields in a given asset configuration.
