AMAX (News - Alert), a provider of high performance computing (HPC), enterprise IT, and custom appliance manufacturing solutions, recently released its new CPU-based computing solutions built upon the new Intel (News - Alert) Xeon E5-2600 v2 Ivy Bridge CPUs.
Leveraging Intel 22nm 3-D transistor technology, these CPUs are designed to ensure higher core counts and frequency (up to 12 cores/24 threads) and faster memory support (up to 1866 MHz). AMAX explained that these CPUs consume half the power at the same performance level as 2-D transistors on 32nmprocess technology. According to the company, these CPUs can increase energy efficiency by 40 percent and ensure 35 percent greater performance.
Moreover, the PHAT Data, AMAX's total turnkey Hadoop cluster compatible with all Hadoop distributions (Cloudera, Hortonworks, IDH, etc), Open Stack platforms and AMAX's ClusterMax HPC Cluster series will all feature an immediate CPU upgrade to the Ivy Bridge E5-2600 v2 CPUs

Recently, AMAX announced that its PHAT-Data total turnkey Hadoop cluster had won the Innovative Solution Award at Ingram Micro's (News - Alert) Annual System ArchiTECHS award ceremony presented on September 17th in Philadelphia, PA.
