Customer Service Software: Open-Xchange E-mail Integrated with Salesforce.com

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Open-Xchange, a provider of integrated open source e-mail and collaboration solutions for enterprises, and RAE Internet, the developer of E-mail Stream Management, announced they integrated Open-Xchange e-mail with Salesforce.com account information.

The integration assisted in keeping customer communications and account information in one place, company officials said.

Salesforce.com Edition is a cloud application residing in the Amazon cloud that imports e-mail every 20 minutes from any Open-Xchange e-mail server. The Open-Xchange server can be on-premises or hosted at a service provider.

In the Match My E-mail cloud, the e-mail stream is compared with Salesforce.com account files, and then the matched e-mails and attachments are logged with the right account files in Salesforce.com (News - Alert).

E-mail integration increases the productivity of customer relationship management (CRM) applications by putting customer communications and account information in one convenient place, company officials said.

In addition, Match My E-mail blocks spam and malware, plus it can upload reports to mobile devices. RAE Internet estimates that the average user will see nearly $1,000 per year in labor savings using its automated service versus a manual Outlook plug-in.

“The integration of Open-Xchange with Match My E-mail improves the organization of information and makes it that much more useful within Salesforce to track customer communications,” said Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange, in a statement.

“It’s so simple to set up Match My E-mail and Open-Xchange that we were able to get one user up and running with his Salesforce.com account in less than 10 minutes,” said Paul Sterne, president, RAE Internet.

“And, the productivity improvement with this automated integration of customer communications and account information is quite significant,” Sterne added.

In February 2010, Open-Xchange announced its partnership with eleven, a German e-mail security provider, to integrate anti-spam security. Both the companies have agreed on comprehensive technical cooperation to easily add e-mail security to all Open-Xchange products.
