Web conferencing and collaboration solutions provider InterCall (News - Alert), a subsidiary of West Corp., has launched its InterCall Web Meeting platform, a new, simple-to-use, Web-based conferencing solution incorporating the most popular Web, audio and video conferencing tools offered by the company. This new Web portal lets users communicate via video link with just one click from their desktop.

According to InterCall, this new, unified solution gives customers more choices, as its suite of services already includes Microsoft (News - Alert) Live Meeting and the WebEx Business Suite.

The solution is backed by InterCall’s proprietary SwitchTower network, which lets users to scale up to services that require more bandwidth, such as multipoint video, with no drops or delays, and also protects users from hardware or software failures with built-in redundancy. With the SwitchTower technology built into the platform, users are guaranteed a high quality experience.

"The genius of InterCall Web Meeting lies in its ability to capture the essence of how people collaborate and deliver a solution that makes sense for everyone,” said Scott Etzler, president and CEO of InterCall, in a press release. “Users can now focus on the interaction, not the technology. The unified features of this product are so simple, it will revolutionize the way people access the different types of communication they use in their everyday business."

According to the company, the development of this service was in response to user demand for a solution that is more streamlined and simple-to-use, from an average user’s perspective. The company came to the realization that in recent years web conferencing technology has become overly complicated, with too much emphasis on the technology itself and not enough emphasis on ease of use.

"We believe the launch of InterCall Web Meeting will drive employee demand for Unified Communications (News - Alert) and Collaboration," said Bob Wise, vice president of marketing and strategic development, InterCall. "This is a simple way to experience many of the benefits of unifying your communications into one service without the expense and complexity of on-premise installations."
