Today West Corporation announced a partnership with Creating Opportunities by Recognizing Abilities (CORA) to provide disabled veterans and their families the ability to become certified customer service representatives using the West Work at Home model.
CORA is a not-for profit organization that provides career opportunities for disabled American veterans and their families.
West's Work at Home program will allow veterans who otherwise may not have been able to work, to be employed from their own homes and based on their own schedules.
The Telework Pilot program, initially launching with the West / Cora partnership will offer severely wounded service men and spouses immediate work at home opportunities.
"These military families are going through enough stress learning to live with a disability, the least we can do is provide opportunities that can decrease the financial burden many of these families are experiencing," commented Ms. Ilene Morris-Sambur, CORA CEO and Founder in a statement.
The West at Home program offers flexible hours and self-paced online training programs--drawing in many different applicants from around the country-- from students to stay at home parents and even retirees. Currently, 262 disabled veterans are working as contracted agents.
"Our program with CORA demonstrates that our remote work force, West at Home can provide new opportunities to those men and women who proudly risked their lives in honor of our country," Mark Lavin, President of West Teleservices commented.
