NetSuite to Double the Size of its Operations in the Philippines

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

CRM solutions provider NetSuite (News - Alert) is reportedly doubling the size of its operations in the Philippines, where it is currently the leading cloud computing applications vendor.

During a press conference held Wednesday in Manila, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson (News - Alert) told reporters the company will be doubling its workforce over the next two years, and will be bringing product development and quality assurance operations to its Manila offices.

"We are going to have 300 more employees and double our center,” Nelson was quoted as saying in a report on BusinessWorld Online. “Basically we feel that everything we put in the Philippines works and we have had good customer response here.”

NetSuite opened its offices in Manila in 2007 in order to bring global technical support, services and back-office operations to the region. It is now expanding those offices to include product development and quality assurance capabilities.

The CRM solutions company has a growing customer base in the Philippines -- it has already won business from major corporations such as ABS (News - Alert)-CBN, Jollibee Foods Corp., Diamond Fleet Management System and MOTECH Automotive Education Center, Inc.

In addition, NetSuite has announced NetSuite Version 2009.2, a new localized version of its platform designed to meet the requirements of the Philippines Department of Finance Bureau of Internal Revenue with key tax compliance, reporting and data export requirements.

"Manila's solid infrastructure, business-friendly environment, and top-notch educational system have contributed enormously to NetSuite's success," Nelson said in a release. "Furthermore, the acceptance of our cloud-based business applications by global companies headquartered in Manila is a great testament to the strength of NetSuite in meeting the needs of local industry leaders."

NetSuite's Philippines operations are led by James Dantow, general manager and vice president of worldwide support. Dantow has business experience on five continents, specializing in BPO and IT services in multiple industries and sectors.

In related news, NetSuite announced today that ABS-CBN Global Limited and its worldwide subsidiaries have adopted the NetSuite OneWorld solution to improve business processes. According to a press release, the global Filipino company is using NetSuite’s accounting/ERP, inventory and order management, customer support and customer relationship management (CRM), partner and reseller management, and sales and marketing report generation and analysis modules. As a result, the company has gained greater flexibility to expand to new regions and modify its product and marketing mix.

The NetSuite OneWorld solution also makes it easy for ABS-CBN Global to report results to its parent company which makes use of SAP as its enterprise-wide financial application.

NetSuite is expected to announce its financial results for the third quarter of 2009 after the market close on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
