NetSuite Affiliate OpenAir's Mobile Solution Now Available on BlackBerry AppWorld

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

OpenAir Inc., an affiliate company of CRM solutions provider NetSuite Inc., has announced availability of its OpenAir Mobile solution on BlackBerry AppWorld.

OpenAir’s PSA/SRP software suite lets project-based businesses efficiently manage their projects, resources, time and expense tracking, and billing and invoicing processes in the cloud. OpenAir claims the solution enables companies to convert more prospects into clients by allowing them to more effectively manage the prospect pipeline and utilize relevant historical data to optimize revenue and margins on future projects.

The OpenAir PSA/SRP solution is actually a suite of solutions including business development, resource management, project management, knowledge management and project accounting software. It also sports numerous reporting tools. The solution comes in three editions: OpenAir Team Edition; OpenAir Professional Edition and OpenAir Enterprise Edition. All three feature automated time and expense tracking and billing; robust reporting; basic project management and work breakdown structures; QuickBooks and salesforce.com connectors; and free NetSuite (News - Alert) connector, among other features – but the professional and enterprise editions add even more advanced features and capabilities.

In August NetSuite announced that OpenAir had secured four new customers in the APAC region -- including AIPEX, Waugh Infrastructure Management, Fronde and Matsco Solutions. About two weeks later it announced that Australia-based technology consultancy AIPEX had started reselling and supporting OpenAir’s cloud computing professional services automation (PSA) and services resource planning (SRP) software in the land down under.

OpenAir claims it is the first and only PSA software company that makes it possible for services professionals to run their businesses via BlackBerry (News - Alert). The solution only requires a client's OpenAir credentials to sync with their account.

This new application, combined with the recent release of OpenAir Mobile for iPhone (News - Alert), provides the mobile services industry with ubiquitous access to key business metrics.

OpenAir Mobile offers features that are essential to services professionals on the move, including access to OpenAir timesheets and expense management using the easy-to-use, familiar BlackBerry interface; and instantaneous synchronization with a user’s OpenAir account to utilize up-to-date customer, project, and task data.

"The services world is an industry of road warriors," said Morris Panner, CEO of OpenAir, in a release. "Our BlackBerry application is yet another example of OpenAir enabling the services workforce to be as effective as possible. At OpenAir, we offer an outstanding solution that enables customers to conduct their business in the way that makes the most sense for their goals and processes."

AeroScout, which offers Unified Asset Visibility (UAV) solutions, has reportedly been benefitting from the OpenAir Mobile for BlackBerry application. Based in Redwood City, Calif., AeroScout solutions use Wi-Fi-based Active RFID, sensors, RTLS and other technologies to provide complete wireless asset tracking and monitoring. As a pioneer in the Wi-Fi RFID market, AeroScout's solutions are used by hundreds of customers worldwide in healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and other industries to automate business processes and deliver context-aware applications.

"I find the OpenAir BlackBerry application to be very useful, especially the expenses module," said Amit Larom, VP of worldwide professional services at AeroScout. "I can easily punch in my expenses on-the-go as I incur them, catch up while I am at the airport, or even while on a flight, without ever opening my laptop. As a company that advocates wireless technologies, OpenAir Mobile for BlackBerry is a perfect fit for us."
