NetSuite Integration Announced by SalesView

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

InsideView has announced the integration of its Sales 2.0 application, SalesView, with NetSuite (News - Alert).

InsideView officials say the integration gives users access to intelligence "harvested from editorial sources -- such as D&B, Hoovers and Reuters, and emerging social media such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook (News - Alert)" within NetSuite,

It's done using the NetSuite Business Operating System, the development platform from NetSuite's SuiteCloud Ecosystem. SalesView is available free to all NetSuite customers as a native mash-up. It's being billed by company officials as a way for users to "uncover customer engagement opportunities faster" in addition to having integrated access to the source for company information.

"As our recent Twitter integration reinforces, InsideView is expanding coverage of both traditional and Web 2.0 sources" in distilling and delivering information, says Rand Shulman, chief marketing officer of InsideView.

NetSuite's SuiteCloud is a collection of on-demand products, development tools and services designed, company officials say, for customers and commercial software developers looking to find a profitable way to use cloud computing. Based on NetSuite, it's designed to let customers run their core business operations in the cloud, for those who are comfortable with such an arrangement. If you're a software developer you can use the cloud to target new markets rather quickly as well.

In April, TMC reported that NetSuite announced a series of partner applications bringing their business application computing cloud together with that of Salesforce.com (News - Alert). "SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com" connects the NetSuite and Salesforce.com cloud platforms, the idea being to let Salesforce.com customers integrate their Customer Relationship Management processes with the on-demand Enterprise Resource Planning and e-commerce functionality of NetSuite.

This move came about six months after NetSuite launched a marketing campaign to win over Salesforce.com clients by offering deep discounts for those who switched over. The company evidently decided that it's better business to get along and play nicely with others.

“With SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com,” NetSuite officials said at the time, "businesses can now benefit from integration between Salesforce.com and NetSuite," ticking off "an integrated lead-to-cash process, customer visibility for sales, and the elimination of manual processes across business units" such benefits.

InsideView, headquartered in San Francisco, was founded in 2005 by talent from the SaaS (News - Alert), content and CRM industries. The company is privately held and venture-backed by Emergence Capital Partners, Greenhouse Capital Partners and Rembrandt Venture Partners. InsideView's sales force automation partners include Landslide Technologies, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce.com and SugarCRM, customers include Ariba, Borland, IBM, Omniture (News - Alert) and SuccessFactors.
