iEnterprises Delivering Custom Mobile CRM Apps Via NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

CRM solutions company iEnterprises is the latest firm to join NetSuite's (News - Alert) SuiteFlex Developer Program. The company is reportedly using NetSuite's One System Architecture to deliver customized mobile CRM apps to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) as well as divisions of larger enterprises.

The SuiteFlex application development platform allows for the development of third-party vertical applications within NetSuite, as well as business process customization for any end-user company. The platform offers several industry technical advances and innovations, including additions to SuiteScript.

SuiteScript includes Suitelets and SuiteScript UI Objects which allow customers and third-party developers to build new workflows and applications that look and operate as if they were created by NetSuite's own developers.

Just last week, NetSuite introduced SuiteBundler, a new set of tools within SuiteFlex which allows customizations and configurations created in one NetSuite account by a developer to be reused in another account without recoding or rewriting. Thus it allows developers to customize apps within SuiteFlex and then re-use that code anywhere else they wish. The ability to re-use software bundles without having to rewrite the code means it will be faster, easier and more cost effective to assemble vertical applications. NetSuite claims that with SuiteBundler, service partners will be able to “turn their services expertise into repeatable and resellable software solutions, built and delivered on NetSuite as more complete SaaS (News - Alert) vertical applications, to meet the complex needs of today's mid-sized businesses.”

Because NetSuite holds critical business data of a company -- orders, invoices, Web site transactions, shipping records, time tracking and payroll data -- the applications that are built on it using SuiteFlex provide key tools for managing the company's business. As an example of this capability, iEnterprises created its Mobile Edge for NetSuite wireless application on Suiteflex's SuiteTalk web services API, which made sending data to and from wireless devices easy to deploy and manage.

iEnterprises specializes in bringing enterprise applications to the BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphone through its Mobile Edge product. Mobile Edge for NetSuite provides both online and offline access to NetSuite users so they have the information they need within seconds. This helps them respond to urgent issues, be more productive, close more deals and better informed decisions when out in the field.

"Our vision is to help companies connect, and make the most of their wireless and NetSuite investments," said Phil Sheehy, vice president of wireless solutions, iEnterprises, in a press release. "By marrying our wireless CRM expertise and best practices with the versatile SuiteFlex platform, we've created a wireless solution that not only brings immediate business benefits, but also an interface that customers will love to use everyday."
