Cloud technology is giving organizations the ability to improve the way they operate by providing them with the infrastructure, platform and service which previously was only available to large enterprises. The beneficiaries of this technology are customers that are experiencing improved products and services across the board. While the technology can benefit almost all industries, business process outsourcing providers can really leverage the technology to differentiate themselves by providing improved services to all their customers.

StarTek, a business process outsourcing and IT-enabled service company, announced it is has acquired AT&T's cloud services to start providing highly secure suite cloud solutions to speed up the company's ability to provide services to its customers.

Using AT&T (News - Alert)'s cloud, data centers and storage solutions, StarTek will be able to leverage the technology to scale on demand so it can address the needs of its customers as they grow. According to the company, the cloud solution has allowed it to scale new services for existing customers in as little as eight hours and let new clients reduce the time it takes to light up network and compute capacity by as much as 75 percent.

Companies such as StarTek generate a massive amount of data from all their customers. Being able to store this data and use it effectively with the data analytics as well as other propriety application from their customers requires a storage system that is flexible and scalable. The AT&T cloud storage allows organizations to expand capacity on the spot or at a later time, and if need be shrink storage consumption.

The AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service is a cloud-based virtual data storage with enterprise class security, on-demand scalability and pay-as-you-go pricing. It allows customers to provision once and add or remove data to meet the demand of the organization by adjusting capacity automatically.

Some of the benefits of the Synaptic Storage as a Service include:

  • Relief from procurement hassles and delays, and upfront capital expense reduction by aligning data storage costs with business activity;
  • Easy online sign-up with access to the service within minutes;
  • Connect-and-go provisioning via a web portal and meet demands without expensive over-provisioning;
  • Reduce data storage expenses and provide backup storage more cost-effectively;
  • Monitor consumption via a web-based portal and manage data assets in the cloud with self-service tools;
  • Provide cloud backup to supplement existing data storage;
  • 24x7x365 infrastructure monitoring and support.

"AT&T’s cloud services will dramatically change our business,” said Patricia Hain, SVP, Information Technology, StarTek. “We can serve our clients better thanks to the speed-to-market advances as well as efficiencies gained by running our business on state of the art technology platforms. It also provides them with an additional level of security and reliability."
