Outsourcing Provider to Employ 2,000 People in Peru Contact Center

Business Process Outsourcing provider Aegis plans to hire 2,000 people in Peru through its newly launched contact center in the city of Lima.

The new facility boasts top-of-the-line technology and has three floors including call center floors with over 300 positions, meeting, training and recruitment rooms and sections for Administrative employees as well as break rooms.

Part of the $27 billion Essar Group, Aegis plans to hire more than 800 employees in the first stages of this project and aims to reach the total of two thousand in the second year.

Aegis already has business in this part of the world. The company acquired Actionline de Argentina in October 2010, which has more than 5000 employees and 5 sites spread out in different Argentine cities. This is Aegis' second step within the region, and wants to tap the burgeoning Peruvian industry that has grown over the last years.

“We chose to grow in Peru for its ease of doing business, skilled labor market and economic and political stability,” said Aparup Sengupta, managing director and Global CEO, Aegis. “We are happy to become part of the community here and hope to offer the best customer experience to our clients.”

Aegis recognizes the market potential for voice services in Spanish and notes that both employment and economic development prospects are very good in Peru.

"We are very happy we were able to enter Peru, which adds a new flag to the global Aegis Map. From here we will be offering our services to the internal Peru market, and also to the off shore markets," added Fernando Padron, country head Aegis Peru.

Aegis was in news last month for launching a business intelligence software suite called Aegis Pi.
