Contact Center Headsets Maker Sennheiser Reorganizes its Sales and Marketing

By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet

To serve its customers and partners more efficiently, high quality headsets, headphones and microphones maker Sennheiser recently announced that it is reorganizing its sales and marketing organization across its three primary business segments -- retail, professional audio and systems integration.

As per the reorganization, the company’s new Retail Group will focus on consumer electronics, music retail, audiology and telecommunication; its Professional Audio Group will focus on professional live sound, broadcast, theatre and studio business; and its Systems Integration Group will focus on serving integrators and fixed sound applications in education, government, houses of worship and corporate environments.

The reorganization also brought about some management changes:

Greg Beebe, formerly director of global relations, has been promoted to vice president of product marketing, and will oversee product marketing for the retail, professional audio and systems integration groups. Beebe has been with Sennheiser since 1992 and has held executive roles in product marketing, sales and relationship management both globally and in the U.S.

In addition to overseeing product marketing for retail, professional audio and systems integration, Beebe will also oversee a new team focused on market development and education. This team will play a critical role in consulting with end users and facilitating education through Sennheiser’s Sound Academy program, which launched in 2007 and has since expanded from supporting professional audio to educating end users on systems integration and houses of worship applications.

Bill Whearty, vice president sales, retail business, will now manage sales for Sennheiser’s retail business. The retail division is supported by regionally managed teams led by Thom Salisbury, western regional sales manager retail, and Ed Maloney, eastern regional sales manager retail. What’s more, two national sales positions will now handle Sennheiser’s wholesale and key account business.

Jeff Alexander, vice president sales, pro audio and systems integration, will head up Sennheiser’s sales efforts for the professional audio and systems integration groups. He will be supported by Eric Mayer, national sales manager, professional sound, and David McNutt, national sales manager, systems integration -- both of whom will lead regional sales teams across the U.S.

The changes went into effect January 1, 2010.

Sennheiser, which sponsors the Contact Center Headsets channel on TMCnet, made news last month when it announced that its RS 170 and 180 headphones, built on Kleer’s KLR 3012 wireless audio transmission technology, won the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Design and Engineering Award. The Innovations Design and Engineering Award is presented once a year in recognition of the most innovative consumer electronics products. The Sennheiser headphones won for their unparalleled advanced technology, innovative design and incredible sound quality.
