By now it’s probably clear what the benefits of IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) technology are for service providers: more streamlined, more profitable operations. But IMS also offers advantages for enterprise customers that buy services delivered using IMS
. Provders serving enterprises, and enterprises themselves, are not always clear on these pluses, though.
In order to shed some light on this topic, a session titled “IMS in the Enterprise” will take place at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO 2007 West next month. The purpose of the session is to explain the dynamics that can lead to enterprises embracing the IMS framework. For enterprises, there are definite benefits to be realized by utilizing next-gen tools like real-time conferencing delivered with a platform that is easy to manage.
During this session, scheduled for Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m., representatives from Polycom (News - Alert) and Frost & Sullivan will explain how IMS can dramatically simplify the deployment and management of enterprise communication systems. The result is significant savings in terms of IT resources.
Greater productivity and increased functionality can be realized when enterprises use IMS. IMS also tends to drive utilization of next-gen services by end-users. Additionally, tight integration among various corporate communications systems make IMS very appealing as the drive behind an enterprise’s unified communications platform.
Both service providers and enterprises can benefit from attending this session, led by Joan Vandermate and James Brennan of Polycom and Ronald Gruia from Frost & Sullivan.
While you’re waiting for ITEXPO and this particular to start, check out the Conference Phones channel, sponsored by Polycom conference phones reseller KeyPhonesDirect. On this channel you can learn more about how IMS and conferencing tie together.
While at ITEXPO, be sure to stop by Polycom’s booth (#202).
