Video Conference Calls Become Mainstream Technology: Report
By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor
As more and more companies become global in nature, their needs for state-of-the-art communications technology is on the rise. Yet during a time when businesses are trying to reduce costs whenever possible, travel budgets are becoming almost nonexistent.
To stay productive, businesses are increasingly turning to video conference calls, which offer users the ability to hold face-to-face meetings, without the need to travel beyond their office environment.
And Eagle Conferencing, a Manhattan- and Bangalore-based provider of full-service conferencing services, is one such company that fits the bill. It offers audio teleconferencing, video teleconferencing and Web teleconferencing solutions, giving customers and clients the chance to connect with others across the globe.
Over the years, video conferencing has evolved into a cutting-edge technology facilitating real-time, in-person conversations. The technology has become so popular, it has entered the lexicon of modern communication mix, according to a new BizAcumen, Inc. report. With its technological advancements, video conferencing has reached the 3G mobile applications arena, including streaming, instant messaging and scheduling.
“Improved flexibility, seamless integration with other applications, enhanced reliability, and lower cost of networks are propelling the industry to adopt video conferencing based on IP networks,” the report, called “Video Conferencing: A Global Market Perspective,” said. “Key factors influencing growth include lower costs, high picture quality, clarity in audio, uninterrupted connections, and reduced transmission delays.”
Video conference calls are ideal when companies have employees in multiple locations, or when a group of dispersed people need to communicate, according to Eagle Conferencing officials. In addition, they can help companies “go green” by reducing carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuels by reducing employees’ need to travel.
Eagle Teleconferencing, a subsidiary of EagleNet companies, provides facility-based teleconferencing services, including IVR and voicemail. With its capacity of more than 10 billion minutes annually, the company connects groups and individuals any time, and anywhere – even if a company needs to conduct last-minute conference calls.
