Conference Call Feature: Virtual Meeting: A 21st Century Solution
By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor
Businesses looking to reduce their costs and increase worker efficiency are testing high tech solutions to help them achieve those goals.
And as interest in these solutions grows, 21st century technologies as conference call or teleconferencing solutions from companies like Eagle Conferencing, a Manhattan- and Bangalore-based provider of full-service conferencing services, are gaining widespread support.
Teleconferencing solutions, for instance, connect users across the globe and helps promotes the feeling of close collaboration, despite users not being in the same room. With Eagle Conferencing’s audio teleconferencing, video teleconferencing, or Web teleconferencing services, people can “meet” clients and customers in location without leaving their office.
Hosting a teleconference call is a good way to hold a so-called “virtual meeting” where participants can listen and provide input, as needed. Virtual meetings are particularly useful when companies have employees in multiple locations, or when a group of dispersed people need to communicate.
Virtual meetings also help eliminate the number of corporate employees traveling to meetings, reducing carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuels across the globe. Companies that let employees work remotely from their homes create a more “green” environment, to help save on transportation costs, Eagle Conferencing officials said.
A recent Frost & Sullivan report found that about 61 percent of organization said they see collaboration technologies as a way to reduce business travel and expenses. The “Meetings Around the World II: Charting the Course of Advanced Collaboration” study also found that more than half think using conferencing tools - such as an audio conferencing, Web conferencing or video conferencing - is a better alternative than in-person meetings.
Eagle Teleconferencing, a subsidiary of EagleNet companies, provides facility-based teleconferencing services, including IVR and voicemail. With a capacity of more than 10 billion minutes annually, the company connects groups and individuals any time, and anywhere – even if a company needs to conduct last-minute conference calls.
