Keep Travel Costs in Check with Conference Calls
By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor
In today's business world, where spending is even more controlled than ever and companies are searching for ways to cut costs and stay ahead of the deteriorating economy, the need for technologies that help protect a companies bottom line are more necessary than ever.
One way businesses have noticed they can cut down costs is by reducing or eliminating travel. Instead of removing the ability to meet with clients, customers and colleagues located around the world, businesses are instead looking to the benefits provided by conference call services.
Conference calls allow businesses to achieve the same objectives as with travel but for a fraction of the cost. With the technology, users can still have face-to-face communications and efficient, effective meetings regardless of where they are physically located.
In the current economy, traveling is no longer a rational choice for businesses. The costs associated with having to provide team members with lodging, travel fares, meals and additional wasted work time spent doing these things outside of the office can ruin the company's bottom line and strain productivity levels.
By providing team members with the ability to connect via audio or video conferencing sessions, businesses can continue to complete the objectives intended with the travel, while at their desk and without the wasted time or fees associated with traveling.
The Travel Industry Association (TIA (News - Alert)) has said it's seeing a declining number of air travelers. This news further strengthens the validity of conference call services in the businesses world.
In addition to the cost savings of conferencing, using the services reduces pollution and has become central to efforts to reduce carbon footprints. Specifically, Frost & Sullivan has found that the audio conferencing and bridging market is increasing and earned revenues of $116.3 million in 2007. They are also predicting that the market will reach $200 million in 2014.
Eagle Teleconferencing provides companies with conference call solutions to get the most out of their meetings. The company's worldwide connection infrastructure has a capacity of over 10 billion minutes and makes it makes it easy, safe and cost effective to collaborate when needed.
