Mirial ClearSea: Making Video Conference Calls Possible on Motorola Atrix and Dell Streak 7

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Mirial announced the latest update to its video conference call solution, Mirial ClearSea, which includes support for Tegra 2 the new mobile chip from NVIDIA (News - Alert). Customers will be able to leverage the standards-based video conferencing solution on devices like Motorola Atrix 4G and Dell Streak 7.

Mirial provides software-only personal video conferencing solutions. Its portfolio includes a comprehensive set of products that enable interactive audio/video conference call services on IP networks and professional, standards-based HD video conferencing.

According to Mirial officials, ClearSea is a professional video conferencing solution that features a software client for Android devices that helps organizations to connect PC, Mac, Android or iOS devices. It is also suitable for any standards-based H.323/SIP equipment, such as video conferencing room systems.

ClearSea is compatible with many other devices besides the Atrix and the Streak 7, including Apple devices like iPad 2, Android smartphones, and other tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab and HTC (News - Alert) EVO..

Mirial customized Mirial ClearSea for iPad 2, which serves as a professional video conferencing application for iOS devices. The application can use the new front facing camera and change over between the cameras even while the video call is going on, according to a report in TMCnet.

In a release Cristoforo Mione (News - Alert), VP of Marketing at Mirial, said, “While we wait for the reduced-complexity future to come, our challenge is to tailor our software so that anyone can take advantage of video collaboration with every new video conferencing ready device facing the market almost every day.”

“Anyway, we do look forward to the time when ‘enterprise workers would be able to have the same video and web conferencing application and user interfaces with them wherever they need to use them’ as Wainhouse (News - Alert) predicts,” Mione added.

Wainhouse Research analysts opined that the Motorola Atrix 4G is optimized for video conferencing according to a paper entitled ‘Motorola (News - Alert) Atrix 4G: The End of Device Proliferation?’

The Atrix 4G is reportedly the next-generation device that combines voice with both mobile and fixed computing environments that reduces complexity by cutting down on the number of devices that can be supported.
