Communications industry market research firm Infonetics Research has reportedly published two unified communication reports, a worldwide and regional market share and forecast report one North American companies and their plans for deploying unified communication equipment and services, as well as their ratings of leading unified communication vendors. First the bad news: The "Unified Communication and IP Contact Center Market Share, Size, and Forecasts" report found that worldwide revenue from unified messaging platforms and communicator software clients is expected to show a drop 4 percent for 2009.

While many sectors suffered some tough times during the global economic downturn, the Unified Communications market also experienced some bumps. According to a new report, worldwide revenue for the market was expected to dip four percent in 2009. But there's some good news on the horizon. According to Infonetics Research's report, the UC industry is projected to soar by more than 100 percent over the next four years and will top $1 billion by 2013.

Education, Training Needs Fuel Web Conference Call Market: Report
When it comes to Web conference calls, an increasing number of users are tapping the technology for training, as well as educational purposes, a new report found. The report, by Wainhouse Research, found that the educational and training portion of the Web conferencing market reached about $680 million in 2009 and is projected to grow to more than $1 billion by the end of 2014.
