Colocation Company Telehouse Teams with Fujitsu

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

Telehouse America, a pioneer in data center and colocation facilities, has found a new friend in Fujitsu (News - Alert), a global provider of ICT-based business solutions.

Recently, the colocation company announced that it will leverage Fujitsu’s premium server products to support high performance, mission critical IT environments for Telehouse data center clients.

“By working with Fujitsu, Telehouse is able to further enhance our premium service portfolio by offering an array of server products designed to provide the scalability, performance, and reliability that our customers require and expect of us in order to efficiently manage mission-critical systems,” said Noriyuki Kita, Telehouse’s executive vice president, in a statement. “Fujitsu servers are very well known among our clients and partners for providing the foundation for a cost-effective, high-availability IT infrastructure, and TELEHOUSE (News - Alert) is proud to be able to deliver such exceptional products to our customers.”

Fujitsu, one of the world’s top five server providers in the industry, develops and manufactures a variety of products including industry standard servers for Windows and Linux (PRIMERGY Servers); high-end servers for Solaris UNIX (SPARC Enterprise Servers); and high-end mission-critical servers for Windows Linux; x86 Solaris (PRIMEQUEST Servers); among other products.

By leveraging the Fujitsu tower, rack, and blade servers, Telehouse will be able to offer its customers scalability, reliability, and high performance. Fujitsu’s tower, rack and blade servers stand apart for their extensive mainframe data center experience and are able to support even the “most demanding platforms and mission-critical, always-on environments,” according to company officials.

Specifically, the colocation company will provide its customers with a vast selection of PRIMERGY Servers, including the PRIMERGY RX200 S6 and RX300 S6 Servers; and the ETERNUS storage product line.

”We are excited about this opportunity with TELEHOUSE America to help ensure mission critical support for its data center clients,” said Richard McCormack, senior vice president of server and solutions business at Fujitsu America, in a statement. “Fujitsu offers a complete range of server and storage devices to help fulfill the needs of our clients and this partnership helps to demonstrate that promise.”

“Our customers will greatly benefit from our Fujitsu relationship because of its high quality server products, and the cost-effective pricing plan we will extend,” Kita added. “We look forward to continued collaboration with Fujitsu, a true technology innovator.”

In other colocation news, eBaum’s World Inc., a website focused solely on entertainment media consisting of videos, flash cartoons and Web games, recently approached Telehouse for a very specific problem that it felt Telehouse could solve. The Rochester, N.Y., based business wanted the colocation company to help eBaum’s World build out a primary space for organic growth extending over a two year period with enough power, cooling, and IP capacity to serve their content effectively at a significantly reduced cost.

After meeting with several data center companies in the New York area, eBaum’s World determined Telehouse to be the optimal choice. Telehouse provided eBaum’s World with a “solid data center solution” which included the Teleport facility’s robust, redundant, high density capable infrastructure, along with Telehouse’s low latency, redundant Premium IP services needed to deliver content, according to company officials.
