The cloud could not be more hot right now – hot in terms of growing usage, increasing deployment, and more providers, but some in the cloud computing space are making a distinct niche for themselves, especially where infrastructure is concerned.
In a recent interview with Corey McFadden, managing partner for Infradapt (News - Alert), TMC and he discussed the ways in which companies, especially ones such as Infradapt, are making headway in the cloud computing space, which is becoming increasingly competitive.
Infradapt recently released a new service for small- and medium-sized businesses, which gives them access to a scalable cloud solution that fulfills their internal IT needs. The Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering provides features that include built-in software and a hardware refresh schedule to ultimately cut costs and increase efficiency, according to Infradapt.
McFadden noted in the interview, “What we’ve found is that in the mid-tier space, there aren’t many companies out there offering Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions…You have companies that are hosting servers, but not networks.” He remarked that what Infradapt offers is unique because of the bundled package.
“We see these newer cloud platforms being the movers from what we’ve been doing to a utility-grade computing model where companies like us will manage the small to medium sized businesses,” McFadden noted.
When asked about the whole security question, as cloud security is a major concern for businesses breaching the new cloud computing scene, McFadden said that every customer Infradapt deploys has its own VLAN within Infradapt’s infrastructure, so there is a privacy aspect.
With customers in both unregulated and regulated verticals, Infradapt developed its solution to serve the most regulated of businesses, so it fits a broad range of customers. “By designing for extremes, you end up designing for everyone. We went for the heavily-regulated, worst-case-scenario, and baked in the security and business continuity stuff that highly regulated customers would need. It ends up being something that all other businesses need as well,” McFadden continued.
With an affordable monthly fee, SMB’s can take advantage of Infradapt’s unique approach to cloud computing, and infrastructure support.
