NaviSite Powers a Large Array of Innovative Cloud Services

By Kayvon Ghoreshi, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Being able to work remotely is quickly becoming the standard for corporate employees. It allows them to not only work more conveniently, but also enables important projects to be completed from wherever they may be at the time. Of course, there are still precautions in setting up a system like this, especially when you consider the security issues of keeping the data protected. In general, cloud services have offered IT departments’ different solutions to remain secure from cyber attacks while enhancing productivity with NaviSite (News - Alert) continuing to introduce new capabilities to its platform.

NaviSite has decided to bring the benefits of cloud computing directly to corporate end-users in the form of its NaviCloud Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS). The cloud provider prides itself on both the ease of setting up this offering as well as how simple it is to access it, which the company believes are major staples of any cloud network. The NaviCloud DaaS provides virtual desktops that will allow corporate employees access from any device and will allow managers to easily add new users to the network. NaviSite wants to accommodate all types of businesses and to do that it offers three types of desktop configurations.

The first option is Professional User which is the most basic option. It is for businesses in need of simple applications and is ideal for companies that want to have virtual desktops available for business continuity.

The second option, Power, is geared more towards the traveling businessman. If employees tend to travel as part of the job or are away from a traditional workplace setting, then this configuration will allow them to still have a full desktop experience without any negative affect to their normal workload.

The final option offered is Ultimate, which as you can probably guess is the more high-end configuration. This is perfect for companies that require large quantities of RAM (News - Alert) and CPU power, as well as much more advanced and customized applications.

NaviSite hopes its NaviCloud platform not only provides the flexibility enterprises need, but also the proper infrastructure needed to raise the bar on cloud security.
