Oreka TR Ready to Test for SIP-Based Media Recording

By Chris DiMarco, TMCnet Managing Editor

OrecX, an open source call recording software developer, has announced that it is ready to test Oreka TR software against the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) requirements for SIP-Based Media Recording (SIPREC).

In addition to a number of other requirements listed in full on the IETF website, to meet the criteria the Oreka TR product must provide a means for using the SIP protocol to establish, maintain, and terminate recording as well as support recording of voice, DTMF video, and text.

These certification requirements are designed to let users know that they’re getting a solution that can handle all points of their SIP- Based media solution.

In addition to being open sourced, the OrecX Oreka TR call recording solution is hosted in the cloud. For call centers managers, choosing a cloud recording option offers a number of advantages to the standard premise based appliance. Pay as you go subscription models and constantly up-to-date features keep the investment valuable, and the elimination of up front capital means that cloud recording is a solution that most startups can appreciate.

Oreka TR's open and flexible design allows cost-effective scaling from one to thousands of users for all market requirements. The product allows clients to search, find and categorize recordings based on the time or date of call, incoming phone number, outgoing phone number or other customer requirements. The VoIP Ready Oreka TR enhances the Oreka GPL recorder that runs on all computer operating systems and integrates with any phone system. Access to the calls is provided with standard browsers like Internet Explorer or Mozilla (News - Alert) Firefox, without installing any additional software. Replay of calls works with a standard Media Player. Powerful and flexible search criteria allow for immediate and accurate retrieval of required calls.

With the power of open source and cloud computing Oreka TR offers call centers a comprehensive path to capturing and correcting the actions of your agents. Once ready, SIP-Based Media Recording Oreka TR will provide even more people with that ability.
